ARK rehabbers and volunteers took in hundreds of injured and orphaned wild animals in the days following hurricane Irene. Rehabbers and volunteers worked around the clock feeding and nursing the animals back to health, some battling to care for the animals without power. ARK is a non proffit organization and is dependent on the public for their donations to aid in caring for our local wildlife. Please consider making a donation or purchasing items on our wish list located on the "How You Can Help" page of our website. We also have caging repair needs if there are any handy individuals willing to donate their skills. As always, if you find an injured or orphaned wild animal, please keep it in a warm, dark, and quiet place, and call our ARK hotline for assistance at (804) 598-8380.

We should get a cage building day going? I will organize it if we can get a location that is mutual for everyone. If anyone is interested please email me: lfox212@gmail.

It's important to note that most of the hurricane babies will be in rehab for 2 - 3 months, with quite a few needing to be wintered over. We made it through the crisis, but our work is far from done.
