It's December, don't forget that ARK has been chosen as December charity of the month at the Thrifty Quaker. That means that the profit for the month will be shared with ARK. They are also taking donations for sale. The Thrifty Quaker is located at 13567 Midlothian Turnpike, VA 23113-4261. Do some shopping, donating and visiting the fine people that work there to help us help the wildlife of Virginia! Spring will be here before you know it, and our rehabbers will be bombarded with orphaned babies!

Members of ARK were quoted in the Chesterfield Observer newspaper on September 7th. The article called "Getting Squirrely" includes pictures of several baby squirrels that were brought to ARK in the days following Hurricane Irene, and several ARK rehabbers and volunteers were quoted. ARK rehabbers and volunteers took in hundreds of injured and orphaned wild animals in the days following hurricane Irene. Rehabbers and volunteers worked around the clock feeding and nursing the animals back to health, some battling to care for the animals without power. ARK is a non proffit organization and is dependent on the public for their donations to aid in caring for our local wildlife. Please consider making a donation or purchasing items on our wish list located on the "How You Can Help" page of our website. We also have caging repair needs if there are any handy individuals willing to donate their skills. As always, if you find an injured or orphaned wild animal, please keep it in a warm, dark, and quiet place, and call our ARK hotline for assistance at (804) 598-8380.

Please visit our "How You Can Help" page for more information.  No amount is too big or too small.
