ARK's 10th Annual Wildlife Benefit

3/1/2013

Mark your calendars to attend ARK's 10th Annual Wildlife Benefit on Saturday, March 2nd from noon until 4pm at Rockwood Nature Center. This is a free event and all proceeds will go towards the milk replacers, food items, medication, and housing for the injured and orphaned native VA wildlife in our care. Plan on a day of fun to include our Silent Auction, education programs with live animals, children's games, face painting, and door prizes. Donations of items from our wish list are accepted as well as financial donations. ARK is a 501 (c) (3) non-proffit organization and all items are tax deductible. This is a great opportunity to show your support for our wildlife and to meet the rehabilitators in our area.

Thank you so much for all you do for the animals. My daughter found a baby bird last year that had fallen from its nest and the lady we spoke with told us the bird was fledging and to leave it alone and that the mother would come take care of the baby on the ground. I cant remember the womans name we spoke to, but she did say she lived near Rockwood Park and would take the bird if the mom did not return to care for it. I was hesitant to put the bird back, but we did and watched from the window. Only about 10 minutes later we saw the mother robin come feed the baby. We were so relieved that the bird was ok and that the mom continued to care for the bird that we called the lady back that we spoke with and thanked her. My daughter and I will make a point to come to Rockwood so we can make a small donation for the expert advice we received.

Is there a cost to attend this event? I have several items to donate from your supply list.
