Contest Rules
1. The contest is open to any photographer (amateur or professional) except volunteers of ARK and their families. Must be a legal resident of the United States, the District of Columbia, and other locales under United States jurisdiction.
2. By entering this contest, you warrant and represent that all photographs you submit are your own original work, do not infringe upon any copyright, invade any right of privacy, contain any defamatory, libelous or slanderous material, or violate any other right of any person or entity, and are not otherwise contrary to law.
3. Photographs must not depict a violation of Wildlife Laws in the State in which the photo was taken
4. Each photographer may enter up to five (5) original photographs. Each category must be labeled, sleeved and placed in separate envelopes, but may be mailed in one envelope or submitted digitally via the provided website. Kids and adult entries must be submitted separately.
5. All photographs must be of Wildlife Native to the State in which the photo was taken.
6. All contest entries must be accompanied by the official ARK Wildlife Photo Contest Entry Form.
7. Entries submitted by individuals under the age of 18 years must include a parental signature and information.
8. All contest entries must include the make and model of the camera used.
9. All contest entries must include where and when the photograph was taken.
10. Photographs may only be submitted by email to: Lin@arkofva.org.
11. Entries may be black and white or color.
12. Entries may not be digital photographs downloaded from a computer unless they are of high quality. If you submit a photograph printed from a computer you must also include a C/D containing the original digital file of each image. Computer generated photos that are grainy or show pixilation cannot be accepted for judging. Do not submit photographs that have been digitally altered in any way. Manipulation of exposure, cropping and some color connection is acceptable. It is not acceptable to remove or add features to an image.
13. Entries of wildlife should be taken in the wild; however, we will accept photographs of animals taken under “controlled conditions” or in captive situations. Shots of animals in the wild are given preference over captive shots. Wild animals should NOT be captured for the purpose of taking photographs for this or any other contest.
14. Photographs of Wildlife in clothing or other compromised positions will not be accepted.
15. Photos that include people or hunting trophy photos will not be eligible.
16. Photos must be of live wildlife.
17. ARK has no obligation to publish or use or retain any photographs that you submit.
18. Deadline for submissions is 5:00 p.m. on day/date noted on prize drawing sheet.
19. You grant the right for ARK to use information that you provide as part of your submission, including your name, city/state to the general public in connection with winning and/or finalist photographs.
20. ARK Directors and Founders will be tie breaking judges for all entries.
CANCELLATION: ARK reserves the right to cancel contest and refund all entries should participation in contest be low without prior notice.
WAIVER OF CLAIMS: By entering this Area Rehabbers Klub (ARK) WILDLIFE PHOTO CONTEST, all contestants and contest winners agree to indemnify, hold harmless, and waive any claims against, ARK, and any of the affiliates, volunteers, directors, founders, agents, representatives, or sponsors, and assigns of any of said entities arising directly or indirectly, out of, or in any way connected with this contest or the prizes awarded in connection therewith.
